WEDDINGS

THINKING ABOUT  A WEDDING IN OUR CHURCH ?

CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE is such an important step to take..... both in your relationship with each other and with God ..... that we want to help in every way we can.

WHAT THE LAW SAYS ....

To be married in our church both Bride and Groom must be over 16 years of age and if under 18 years must have their parents consent.

Weddings can take place on any day between 8.00am and 6.00pm and either the Bride or Groom must normally either live in our parish or already be on the ‘Electoral Roll’ of our church.

If you live locally but aren’t eligible to be married in our church we are very happy to put you in touch with your own local church

QUESTIONS ...

If you are not legally a British Citizen, have been married before or have other questions about you eligibility to be married in our church, please consult our Rector

BOOKING THE DATE ....

The first thing to do is to telephone our Rector to discuss possible dates for your wedding day. He can probably let you know free dates immediately and will arrange to see you within a week or two.

PREPARING FOR THE DAY

You will probably meet with our rector three or four times before your wedding day - usually just for about 40 minutes each time. First to book the date and receive our Wedding Folder (which includes details of costs !). Second to return the Application Form and begin to discuss arrangements. Next to look through the service and finalise details - and, finally, just before the day, to meet in church for a last minute rehearsal.

DETAILS

You will be able to discuss arrangements for flowers , photographs, confetti, hymns, music with our Rector .... and anything else you have in mind. Just keep a note of any questions and take it when you go to see him!
