Sunday Groups for children and young people at Necton

Our children are a very important part of our church family, and take an active part in our worship and in other aspects of our life as an all age Christian community.

We have groups for the Youth and Children,

which meet on the 1st, 2nd and 4th

& (where appropriate) 5th Sundays of the month.

On the 3rd Sunday,

we have a family friendly service,

for which we all stay in the service together.

(formerly known as Scramblers and Climbers)

Explorers for ages 7-11

Pathfinders for ages 11+

Should you have any queries about groups,

please contact Ruth Thorp (not Fridays)

Matthew Barley or Janet Crittenden

We do still need more help from people who would be willing to spend a session with the youngsters and see how we are encouraging them in their Christian life.

If you do feel you could be such a person,

please speak to either of us at any time

OUR NEWS

Our Mini Olympics and Picnic

The Beijing Olympics will be hard pressed to compete with All Saints Church, Necton's Mini Olympics for sheer fun and enjoyment!!

On Sunday 6th after morning service, children and grown-ups burnt off their excess calories in our own 'private Olympics' when 4 teams competed in 6 different events for cherished 'gold medals'. Sadly, the weather was not on our side, so the plans to hold it in the Rectory gardens were shelved and events tailored to the inside of the church. With mixed teams of children and adults, the competition was fierce and some of the ''older" competitors were soon feeling rather 'puffed'.

After completing all events, we sat down to a 'picnic' in the Parish Room, then, as everyone was still keen for more, 4 chosen events were performed at break neck speed to do as much as possible in the greatly reduced time allotted. Samuel's team proved to be the outright winners and were presented with their 'medals' by John Barley.

Many Thanks to Necton Primary School for the loan of their equipment.

Proud Winners!
